Herper of the Month - May 2005
Jason Folt

"There is something special about being able to see the animals that live in your back yard". And his backyard is the state of Ohio, where as a kid, he and his brother often brought home OH herps to a very supportive mother and father.

Jason is sharing his knowledge and experiences in the field by volunteering with a Cincinnati herp researcher, as well as contributing to ODNR. He keeps detailed records and pictures of everything he's seen in the field.
"Above all else, the greatest things I have found in this hobby are lasting friendships." Jason attributes alot of his herping skills to several mentors, but one especially, Carl Brune. "...without him I would still just be finding ringnecks."
"Herping, in all of its glory, provides me with that much needed release from the real world and helps me to keep my sanity."
