"There
is something special about being able to see the animals that live
in your back yard". And
his backyard is the state of Ohio, where as a kid, he and his brother
often brought home OH herps to a very supportive mother and father.
Jason
is sharing his knowledge and experiences in the field by volunteering
with a Cincinnati herp researcher, as well as contributing to
ODNR. He keeps detailed records and pictures of everything he's
seen in the field.
"Above all else, the greatest things I have found in
this hobby are lasting friendships." Jason attributes
alot of his herping skills to several mentors, but one especially,
Carl Brune. "...without him I would still just be finding
ringnecks."
"Herping,
in all of its glory, provides me with that much needed release
from the real world and helps me to keep my sanity."
