The Bishop area can be unpredictable. I definitely wouldn't go there hoping to see anything but gopher snakes and panamint rattlesnakes. Garters can be had in the area, but even they can be tuff to find. The desert is the same way, but the earlier you can get there the better. I've had great nights ...

I agree with much of what's been said. A lot depends on the road/traffic and the type of herp. I seem to recall once or twice finding a snake as a DOR after I've seen it/helped it off the road/or watched it get off the road. A fine time was had by all. There was a good turnout this year. I don't know the exact numbers, but they were expecting over 1,000 kids to show up. Enough showed up that Nate's herps were getting tired of being held. The coral was (un)fortunately not real....Alex and friend are... :D I'm fairly sure...

I'm not sure why, but it really seems I saw a lot fewer snakes last year. It may have been because most of my trips seemed to be timed with cold weather and or a full moon :( :evil: Especially in Mono county and Imperial county.

Is Nathan interested? I second if he is. I know this can be a time consuming position. We have a number of events in LA County every year that Jeff didn't always have time for that others have stepped up and helped out with.
