sonarae and flagellicauda or almost impossible to tell apart. I'd rather have in hand (yeah I know good luck with that one). Based on range maps in both Hollcross and Jones, sonarae is what I'd say. But you are not far from both of their ranges.

Chris is right, it is a gularis. Racerunners don't have spotting in the lateral fields unless its a birth defect or hybridization. Also the shade of green on the back is typical of gularis.

If you all decide on AR (Ouachitas), I will help out and I'm sure others will as well. Queen Wilhelmina is a good place to stay, but the lodge is shutdown for renovations. It was a decent place to eat.

I agree with the previous statements on books. I will add that I find myself using iBird pro on my iPhone a bunch.

I don't think anybody has addressed the above issue about a TC. To my knowledge none of your current lenses would accept a TC. I know for sure the 70-300 VR will not. Issue#4 - The 70-300 VR lens is not long enough for good bird/wildlife work. And the image quality is more miss that hit. Could be operator error again.
