Awesome photos of some amazing animals! How did you even get that close to a keithorni? The one I saw was up a tree faster than greased lightning! Fantastic photos and makes me really excited for my trip later this year!

Nice post and welcome home. I saw a hedgehog in Berlin. Lucky I was called there, as I think all the herps in Africa or Amazonia would have been distracting. And don't even mention those spoiled elders in Australia.

Fantastic post and some great photography! Why are the barroni always so beat up looking with lots of scars and such? How common are they within their range? Love those cygnitos and the stimsoni eating a bat shots as well. Thanks for posting!

Great post, Tom! I would agree that finding a perentie would be the ultimate. I have yet to reach that goal. Struck out after a few weeks in Alice Springs, but it was a little rainy. Just means I have to go back.

Great post of some things you don't see too often. That Rankinia is very cool and fairly atypical for an Australian agamid. The skink dragging incident looked pretty bad for the smaller animal, and from the picture looks like it's front left limb is being ripped off. Thanks for the lesser seen anima...

Thanks for all the comments! Serpentes, I also saw some eremius that were too quick for pictures. In Iron range, I saw keithhorni and panoptes bringing the total of Varanids for the trip up to 7! Gus, are you sure that juvenile is a water dragon and not a boyds? It was from the curtain fig tree with many boyds around. Do you have a pic of a juvenile boyds?
