What should a researcher's Facebook profile look like? :) I've been in the field with tons of "professional" researchers, and if I had to put my money on someone to find a toad, I'd put it on Chris. Is he conventional? Of course not. But he repeatedly succeeds where "conventional"...

With Phrynosoma ditmarsi being found in the Sierra San Luis, there's a good chance they're in the foothills of the SSL in New Mexico. Anyone who has spent time down there should check their Phrynosoma photos for that area to make sure their hernandesi aren't ditmarsi.

It's hard to throw snakes from that area into one bucket or another - it's an intergrade zone mixing molossus molossus, molossus nigrescens, and molossus basiliscus. Same problem happens everywhere the SMOcc starts to hit the pacific coastal plain, but its a bit more complicated in Sonora because of...

The TK45 has 4 output settings (8 lummens, 95, 312, and 760) and you can switch between the them very quickly. If 760 is too much, just switch to 312.

The "survey ID field" would fit this purpose. You could enter an ID unique to that trip (i.e. (OAX200605), then to return the finds from a single trip you would just search your records for that value.

So you cross reference it in the notes in one fashion, someone else does it slightly differently. The end result is a headache for whoever does the dedupping. A standard field that can be easily filtered during a data request is the better and more sustainable approach. Don, we need an edit!
