Great stuff Nick. Sorry to say I won't be hitting KZN this trip around in Oct. I'm making plans right now to head back to the Kgalagadi and give that another shot since I haven't been since 2011.
Stoked to see how much of this community work you're doing, it's awesome.

I wonder what they (LE) would say if you had thousands of dollars of photographic equipment with you and not a single hook, bag or tongs? I argued this point to no avail with a ranger in Joshua Tree a few years back. He actually caught me standing in the middle of the road just before midnight phot...

I've found plenty near my dad's cabin on the Gulkana just around Sourdough. I can't remember finding any north in Fairbanks but I'm sure I did as a kid.
I'll be up in Fairbanks in June...maybe I'll beat you to that voucher! ha. I doubt I'll have time to look for them while up there though.

I went out to Phoenix last weekend to work and hang out at the Phoenix AM skateboard contest. Did some fun herping while out there and found a few things. I get so pissed when I see these kind of images. I've got a photo of that same sign from Iguazu from 2013 when I went down there. I saw a guy shooting a selfie with one as he was holding it close to his lap. I so wanted it to bite him right in the balls to teach him a lesson. Sadly, it did not.
