Re: Why You Dont Collect

The reason I don't collect is simple. I'm in it for the "pop" not the "pet". I get my rush and excitement from the initial find. this quickly subsides and having an animal to feed and care for is not consistent with my interest in wild herps. Years ago, as a kid, I would occasionally take a snake ho...

Re: Some finds so far in 2015

Thanks Kyle and Beanie. I think I like the pattern on the redhead better also. The red was much darker and it had a slight yellowish tint on the very top of the white bands. Not really evident on the pic from my P&S.

BTW, I'm thinking tomorrow is going lights out, Kyle.

Some finds so far in 2015

I've been getting out a fair bit so far this year. Besides being completely obsessed with finding Canebrake Rattlesnakes as usual, I've also decided to spend some time targeting some other things. in late march, Rman and I found this beauty on our first flip of the day. Canebrake with a heck of a lo...

Re: Birds of southwest florida

Birds are great.

Some ID corrections:

1- female House Sparrow
10- Common Moorhen
13- I'd actually call this one a Red-shouldered hawk. It's got that grey head that Fl Rs's are known for and the profile of this bird is not right for an accipiter.

Nice pics,
