Yeah I hit a spot that seemed to be scrub on google earth but turned out to be more of a swamp in Hendry County. I'm not one to give up easily so you will eventually see me on here with all of my lifers one way or another.

My most productive way of finding herps is roadcruising, and I find the best time 30 mins before the sun sets to about an hour after dark. Gorgeous photography. I love the Gartersnakes especially the California Red-Sided Gartersnake, what a beauty! The Northern Rubber Boa and the California Giant Salamander are also interesting.

I've shared how I feel on the bagging issue in the thread about it. I really enjoyed the story-telling and the herps involved. You're a lucky son of a gun to be able to travel to such a beautiful place and get to know the culture and animals there. Even if it was only for a few days.

Now I get where the term LECH came from.:lol: I still love my FL herps even the common ones but Arizona sure has a lot to see. When I used to live in NM I think I used to see some of these herps. I especially find the Green Toad (Anaxyrus debilis) the Skinks and the Whiptails captivating.

NewYorkHerper16- I found the turtle shell in a dried up swamp so maybe it died from lack of water? And you're right, I was thinking that as I was holding it. Though it didn't look like venomous snake to me, it could have been.

Those Podarcis milensis are absolutely gorgeous. I also really like the geckos. And it always sucks to find DORs, I've only started roadcruising a few months ago and I've already seen more DORs than I can handle. It's a damn shame.
