Hi everybody, I need to do field researchs in Pargauay but I'm not working for an university or a scientific structure. So I'd like to know one of you can help me with a guide suggestion for snakes, or maybe a structure... Plan is not to collect snakes or kill them. They'll be examined/photographed ...

Re: Slovenia summer 2017
Hey Jimi, thanks for your message. The altitude was between 220 and 313 m. However we had the feeling to be higher because of the surrounding mountains. But the sea was quite near. Here are some pictures of the habitat, the Kupa river, between Slovenia and Croatia : https://redcdn.net/hpimg4/pics/71...

Re: Post your 1 best photo from 2015!
Well, mine is not particularly spectacular when it comes to quality, but that's my favourite because I had to go to walk for several hours in a deep forest at night to take it. It's a fight between two Sachatamia albomaculata males. http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/493255fightingalbomaculata2r.jpg

Actually when I was in orotina, the guy who own the place I slept showed me a piture on his cell phone of a dead one that he found the day before. A quite big specimen...

Re: Costa Rica question
Never been to this place, but I think like a lot of place in CR, there are really good guides on site. Once there just ask for what you want. In Tortuguero I made it clear that I wanted someone who loves reptiles and amphibians. The guy at my hostel just told me to wait for a minute and phoned one o...

Re: Costa Rica, May 2015
wow... the lateralis are really awesome - way cooler than seeing a Bothrops in my opinion! Your first toad looks like a young melanochlorus and your frog pair look like crassidigitus to me. Will, that's not Incilius melanochlorus. Those toads were found in the south and that specie lives in ...

Re: Costa Rica, May 2015
Thank you Will. Yes, that's definitely some crassidigitus again. Well, Bothrops is one of my favourite genus so... Maybe the next time ! We've already planned to go back there in order to visit other places like Corcovado, Guanacaste, etc. And this time we'll try the dry season, or what they call su...

Re: Costa Rica, May 2015
@ Shanicy : A lot were found by the local guides. In fact it's very difficult to have access to "free" forest in that area. Everything is made for tourism and there is almost no wild trails. But I've managed to find one or two by myself. :) I remember an afternoon where I tried to find wild path... ...

Costa Rica, May 2015
Hi everybody, I've been to Costa Rica for two weeks in May 2015. Here comes the acceptable pics I've brought back with me. I'm not a pro, some pictures aren't that good, I don't have big lens and so on, and above all, at certain moment, humidity damaged mystuff ! But hell, I'm very happy with what I...

Hello !
I'm Johannes from France and just recently registered here. I keep snakes of various genus since 6 years now and like more and more to see them, as well as frog and lizards, in nature. I'm going to Costa Rica in May, where I'm sure to witness some real beauty. So every advice is welcome ! Oh and of ...
