Re: Tell me I'm not the only one
I've done some stupid things before... luckily I haven't lost too much $ worth of gear though. The worst I've had happen to date are: 1. Lost a P&S with underwater housing while whitewater rafting in Costa Rica. I had it strapped onto the chest of my life vest. As soon as we reached calm water w...

FYI, the Peruvian Guide and the Muslim Girl are my favorites from the set above. Thanks Travis! I love that guide shot also. I'm surprised no one else has chimed in yet to comment. WOW! That is so wild! I wish I was the photographer that got to experience that and take those photos! Unbelievable, and the jaguar looks fairly healthy and not desperate for a meal.... I wonder if this jaguar does this "often."

I've also used rain sleeves before... good if the lens has a long hood on it, otherwise rain will still get on the front lens. That's great Matt! I actually took photos of M. uniflora recently on a hike not really knowing what it was. I id'd it and left the photos without looking more into what it was. Thanks for the quick replies! I'll definitely add some of those examples for today/tomorrow. I don't think I'm in any way the perfect portrait photographer (I'm aware of my weaknesses in photography and portraiture is one of them), but my favorite "portrait" type photographs I've taken are the ones that aren't planned. I think capturing unique (real vague right?) people in certain...

Great teaser post Jeroen! I'm excited to see the herp shots (especially the corals and more of the bushmaster)! Unfortunate incident with the bite... Just a guess here Hans... I can't give an exact species, but I believe it's part of the Kalophrynus genus. Possibly a hypomelanistic individual. The "growth," to me, looks like a tumor or possibly an extra "normal" leg growing from a mutation. Possibly a hypo, juvenile K. baluens...
