I find them just about every weekend road cruising forest road 13 in ANF from Crawfordville to The end of the road. They are easily the most abundant snake I find there. I usually road cruise the last two hours before dark. Then I go to the paved roads. Let me know if your coming down maybe I can go...

Do larger pieces (4x4) attract larger snakes or more snakes in general. F I was after small snakes (such as scarlet kings) would it be better to have a few large boards or more small boards such as 2x4 plywood or even 2x2. I have been out about 10 times all between 6.00 pm and 11.30 pm ( I have small children at home so really can't do all nighters anymore) and the scarlet snake has been the most common snake I have seen.. I've had a couple of nights lately where I also saw nothing. it has been raining everyday between 3.00 and 5.00 pm. I notice when it was wet outside I saw very little if anything. But if we go a couple of days without rain I will see 4-6 snakes between 9.00 and 11.00 pm. I still go if it's been rain...
