Re: The republic of Georgia
Love the landscapes and I have always thought Bufo viridis is one of the better looking toads in the world. Even though you didn't find as much as you would have liked, it is still great to see a post from the region. Seeing a Wallcreeper would certainly been one of my trip highlights! That bird ha...

The republic of Georgia
For the last few years I had been contemplating a trip to the Caucasus, this year I finally got to go. After a bit of research I decided that I would focus exclusively on Georgia, a small country most famous for being the birthplace of Stalin. It turned out to be small gem, with some awesome landsca...

Re: What was your last lifer?...
What a great autumn!
Two weeks ago I drove four hours to see a Red-eyed Vireo (first for Denmark) where I also saw my first ever Little Bunting, and today I ran into a Pygmy owl.

Re: What was your last lifer?...
So far this season has produced quite a few `sibs` in the Copenhagen area with invasion like occurrences of Pallid harriers and Two-barred Crossbills. I still cant seem to find a pallid harrier, but I did get 3 great lifers: Yellow-browed Warbler Two-barred Crossbill Red-throated Pipit Now the quest...

Turkey on a shoestring
After being home for a short while following my Central America trip, I decided that a second backpacking trip was in order. In the end I decided on spending four weeks in turkey, traveling around by public transportation. The bus system in Turkey is excellent albeit a bit expensive, but still a rea...

Re: What was your last lifer?...
My three most recent lifers were:
Arctic Redpoll (froze my ass off)
Tundra Swan (froze my ass off)
And a nice Slavonian Grebe that turned up at one of my old spots.
