However, Im taking a little break and looking for a different introduced species in NJ, The Spiny Soft shell Turtle (Apalone spinifera). I cant seem to find any reliable records from recent years. Re: Italian Wall Lizard Populations

So, I took advantage of this past weekend with days reaching the 80s to see if the wall lizards were out. I visited Queens College & the Mnt Laurel population. In Queens, only a handful of individuals were present, about 10. 9 of them where adult dominant males. In mount laurel there were a decent a...

Re: Anoles - enough said

Any one know anything about A. extremus & A. ferreus in Frt. Myers? I wouldn't be surprised if they're extirpated, I heard A. ferrerus was supposedly breading & both were found around the Frt. Myers Country Club, however that's a big area and from the two times I've been there, there is certainly a ...

Re: Tokay Gecko eating Stink Bugs

Yeah, I've been trying to figure that out. I usually run a humidifier at night and some of my walls a have water droplets on them (I don't have sheet rock walls, don't worry). I do plan on picking up some large "house plants" like a palm tree or something with a lot a crevices and overlapping leaves...

Tokay Gecko eating Stink Bugs

Hello, Has anyone seen or tried feeding stink bugs to Tokay Geckos. I freaquently find them in my studio (about 2 or 3 at least a day) along with the occasional escapee cricket. Have thought about getting one to roam free in my apartment. Anyone have experience or suggestions on this? I keep my room...

2017 Summery

2017 was one of the most thrilling & exciting years for herping. Unfortunately I lost a lot of y pics that were on an SD card but will do a summery anyway. I spent March/ April this on a 2.5 month road trip across the SW & South, visiting the desert for the first time, and spent about 2 weeks in sou...

Calotes in Florida??

Hello, Up here in Jersey its been too cold for herping so I've been focusing a lot of my time on other projects instead of herps. I know, not a good excuse for a herper, lol  But I recently came across an article about Calotes versicolor in Port St. Lucie. When I was in south FL back in April o...

Herp Groups

Hello, I am planning on visiting south FL this fall. I was there this spring for about 2 weeks as part of my 2 month road trip across the south which I plan on doing a desperate post on my herp findings later. There were a few herps that I failed to find and was hoping to have better luck next time....

Re: Italian Wall Lizard Populations

I know of a verified population on the KY side of the Ohio River across from Cincinnati. I'm pretty sure John MacGregor, the state herpetologist who works for fish and game has been surveying it for several years. It's even on the Lizards of Kentucky poster   . Those are a sister species ...

Italian Wall Lizard Populations

Hello, I mostly herp in the NY/NJ area tracking down Wall Lizard populations. I have managed to find them in 4 of the 5 boroughs as well as NY state & NJ. I have absolutely fallen in love with these little guys in the past year or so since I first saw them in Westbury, NY. I am mainly trying to trac...
