Re: Arizona herps & stuff
I'm glad you like some of the photos Porter, Ross, and Jimi. Thank you for your nice replies. people get bit like that though. Don't push your luck. Thank you especially for this message of safety Jimi. I would not want people to think we touch venomous snakes with bare hands. My husband always wear...

Re: Arizona herps & stuff
Gracias Cushen! Much of Arizona is dry an hot in May, but I bet you will find plenty of rattlesnakes anyway. I am no qualified to give herping advice but I suggest siestas during the heat of the day so you will be fresh for late night cruising and early morning hiking. Good luck!

Arizona herps & stuff
Greetings once again Fieldherpers! Some sights from Arizona (mostly) are included below. In keeping with the taciturn nature of the forum I have kept discussion to a minimum, but please ask if a species is unfamiliar and I will probably be able to help. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-cLf76zB/0/...

Re: Herping in Nepal (really, actual herping!) - part 2
I like your short descriptions that give a hint at least to what is was like to herp in Nepal. It must be frustrating and heartening for the forested areas to be protected so vigilantly. The notion of night hiking a python and then having dozens of locals descend immediately upon you is difficult to...

What an exotic trip you had! I would be thrilled to see muggers, gavial, and a Bengal monitor. That one caterpillar looks like a dachshund with eyes were glued on by a kid. So bizarre!

Re: Best of 2019
Absolutely fantastic! I like best all the species of tree vipers and how I can see the swirls of colors that make up the less-detailed color we would see from a safe distance. How/why are there 2 ant heads on that subannulatus? It just seems improbable.
Thank you for this post!

Re: A Dream of 2019 - A sleepy memoir of a year in field herping
I enjoyed this quite a lot...including the soundtrack. It surprises me how many boards have multiple snakes beneath them. It is usually pointless to flip boards in Arizona - or at least I never have luck. I like especially the baby rubber boas. And "Love is what I got" with a biting gopher...

Lepidus in Festive Finery
Greetings Field Herpers! To celebrate Christmas, my husband and I we perused some old photographs and choose a few banded rocks with nice green and pink. https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-hSMZCb6/0/85dcb377/O/i-hSMZCb6.jpg https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-w6q9D87/0/06b4b62a/O/i-w6q9D87.jpg htt...

Re: A Giant Encounter - Battle for the Delta
I love this video and how there is so much going on in such a short time. I even like the interruptions of the cars driving over the bridge and your excited herp-nerdiness nearly getting you hit by one. It puzzles me how sometimes we can go days without a good find and then suddenly the sky op...

Re: Sky Islands first post
Not as cool a giant garter snake maoing down a non-native bullfrog but a good sight to behold nonetheless. Thank you! As a birder on a herp forum, I try not to show too many birds, but those vultures were too cool.what a beautifully colored gartersnake eating that toad

I'm happy you like the photos, Jeroen and DRDAN. Thank you also for the correction DRDAN - I change it to leopard lizard. Actually, it was a cool, dry spring night but the tarmac was still warm apparently.
Thank you,
