I overheard a neighbor across the street (5 years ago) bragging about cutting the head off of a "SEVEN FOOT black snake"! He tossed it over the back fence behind his house. I went back there the next morning, gathered the snake AND it's severed head. His seven foot beast was actually a gra...

Re: Baker University wetlands
I live in Lawrence and agree with Dan's assessment. I am glad you were successful, on your trip but may have misidentified some animals. There are PLENTY of timber rattlesnakes to be found in/near Lawrence (and closer to KC) but not IN the wetlands.

Re: Nesting Hogs, 2011
AWESOME post!
Hey Carl, are these animals in WI? I live in KS, so I am not looking for any locale info, just curious if they were in the state of WI, as I know very little about hogs, but thought they were more of a southern animal.
Thanks
Don

Three Lakes WMA I'll second that. Jimi's also correct with the flipping being (mostly) a cool weather sport down here. With that being said, you have a couple of great options that'll also allow you to spend time with the fam (if applicable.) You can walk or drive the dirt roads/trails in and aroun...
