If you had rain recently maybe it made it move and get lost. I found a juvi ribbon snake in the middle of a large field once. no water around at all, thought it was kidda strange. juveniles arnt the brightest.

My brother (inchuhead) and I went to the outer banks and had a amazing herp trip. So my family,fiance and I are heading down to the outerbanks for a long weekend in about 2 weeks. needles to say a great deal of herping will be going on. We have spent time herping the outerbanks before and have had some luck. Just curious what other people have found in the outer banks before.

Before the snake went down I saw the back had more checkers on it. I have never seen a ribbon snake in the area either. I'm pretty sure it was just a garter. also alot of the garters I have seen in the area have had no checkers at all.
