Re: Speckled rattlesnake range?

Nice one Steve! Some folks think the Yavapai animals are some of the prettiest specks around. (And some folks like the white or blue ones better...I just love the variety) There is no record of them in Prescott that I am aware of. I would think Prescott is about 1500' too high for them, at that lat...

Re: Speckled rattlesnake range?

Here's a photo of a Bagdad spec that was taken by a friend of mine. I don't know exactly how close to the center of town he found this snake, but it was definitely found in the Bagdad area. Awesome looking animal IMO. http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee226/Steve_Bledsoe/SW%20Speckled%20Rattlesnak...

That snake was founded in AZ. It would be an absolute mut and a big disappointment if not kept locality! That is such a great find! I'm very pleased to hear your going to keep it locality! If you also wanted to breed it with another Sonoran morph it would be cool to do it with an axanthic Sonoran! ...

Edit just saw Jim posted it above. I am going to breed it another Sonoran gopher snake from in the same area. They were found a 1/4 mile apart and are the same size. I am having them sexed this week and hope they are a pair. If not I will get another from that area to pair it. I was also considering...

That place is a dick kicker. Not many animals to be seen. I saw a gopher snake on the main dirt road (i don'tt know if people care if I post the name so i won't) that runs to the mts(parallel with the mts). It was towards the start of the dirt road. I also saw a coach whip on that road. I have yet t...

I've seen a few Nor Pacs recently that look exactly like that. They were at 1000 to 1500 ft and all were big adults. It seems the bigger snakes have less noticable pattern markings and are typically darker (almost black) up here in Nor cal. Not all of them but the majority.
