CA Fishing license required, with the license the use of a hook is acceptable. I would say June is better in the Mojave, but there are others with a lot more field experience that can talk better on that.

The verdict is in, the first lizard is Stenocercus ochoai. I authorized my pic to be used for the reptile database since they didnt have any confirmed pictures of this species yet. :)

Since nobody posted that they could identify the first lizard, I contacted the reptiledatabase.org. They have since forwarded the pics to a couple regional herp expert for identification help. Hopefully I will hear back from them after the holiday.

Yep, you're right. Just did a little research in that direction, definitely a wolf spider, pretty sure from the family Lycosidae. After that, it could be any number of species. They all look pretty similar.

The way it is draped STRONGLY indicates human placement. Intersection street sign with a stop sign and pics on concrete, looks like it was in a neighborhood.
