Going cruising tonight in Cedarburg Bog, Jackson Marsh area. Anyone had any luck in this area yet? I've never cruised midwest (from California).

Gotta come back up Jim! Me and my herp crew got 28 Black Salamanders last weekend in about an hour, over half of them being the "green guys". Loving Humboldt Co! -Bennett

Anyone heading out to the Southwest PARC meeting next week?

I'm thinking of going out to Tucson next week and seeing what's going on. Just curious if anyone on here are members and have been before. Just got back from my field work in NC this last month, that's why I haven't been on :P Someday soon I'll post all the salamander pics up. Hope everyone is well....

Anyone ever traveled on commercial airline with snake hook?

Just curious if anyone has brought their hook as "carry on" on a flight? I checked TSA website and couldn't find anything because it's such a specific item. Interestingly it is okay to bring screwdrivers, pliers, and fishing poles aboard as "carry on". So who knows. I plan on calling on Monday but j...

Jim-yeah I still haven't found much at WW either, besides this guy and W. Toads. The DOR's and the rosy were found elsewhere (Lucerne Valley, Barstow). There were tons of the red spotteds out last night!

Cadaverina?

I'm used to Northern Pacifics so pardon my ignorance on probably an easy ID. :P California Tree Frog? Found in WW last night. The calherps photos just don't convince me enough. Had 2 DOR long noses, a DOR glossy, a DOR speck, and a rosy! Also, geckoguy pulled up as I had the rosy! Nice to meet someo...

Legalities of herping?

Does anyone here know if herping in national or state parks is ok? By "herping", I mean can you handle herps there? CDFG states that there may be no take in national or state parks, as well as reserves and monuments. And of course there is no "hunting" or killing of animals in these protected areas,...

I hate that crots aren't regulated by CFG. Although it is a bit of an annoyance if you find 'em in your backyard and let's say you have 2 children, so you want to dispose of them to make your place "safer", to have to have a permit. There should be a clause, "must have a CFG license anywhere that is...
