Re: Alabama man indicted under Lacey Act

I'm reserving my judgement until the whole case unfolds. They claim he went out for 6 years in a row doing this YET they only "charge" him for 2009 offenses....it's 2011. Who knows- sometimes law enforcement exagerates a bit. Then again the guy could be shady but I do lstand behind the fact that Ame...

Texas Tortise (G. berlandieri) eating bones!

While herping in South Texas in 2007 I found multiple Texas Tortises (Gopherus berlandieri) out wandering in the mornings while I walked the roadsides. Below are pics of a particular tortise that I walked up on in the process of eating bones from a roadkilled mammal about 5' from the road. I've read...

Thanks guys. I agree.- you hardly ever see CBB specks. I'm sure the babies will be challenging to get feeding...or who knows- maybe not.

Re: How much are your feeding bills?(and other expenses)

I probably spend $1200-$1400/yr. on feeders (RodentPro) but that feeds 125+ animals + a crud load of colubrid babies produced. The shipping costs are what really adds up with the feeders- there's a local breeder but their prices are more expensive (even in bulk) that I paid shipped from RodentPro. I...

HOT porn (reptiles)

I figured if I didn't mention reptiles in the subject line it might get pulled as spam...lol. I work out of town for 2 weeks at a time (then home for two week)...oil field. Timing isn't always best for breeding but I caught a few of my hots breeding this year. Here are some Blue Specks. This is my f...

Hey, thank Graham! Very nice of you to oblige :thumb: :D Awesome stuff  Not so into all the corn morphs but taking the best of the naturals and breeding for extremes of that floats my boat. Great job there. Hope to see more in the future :) Wow, love that pic on the pine bough! :thumb: 8-) L...

Once you get that figured out, can you please post some more, larger pics of your avatar snake in the Herpeticulture Forum? Do you know its history? Wild caught? Captive bred? ...quite a snake. Done- thanks. Yes, the photobucket way is super easy once you get the hang of it! http://img.phot...

For Monklet--- Extreme Okeetee Corn

Hey Monklet, The snake in my avatar is one of my male breeder Extreme Okeetees. He's an "Abbove" Okeetee (lol: ABB ott x l OVE ). I have a project going to try and selectively breed Okeetees with at least 1/2 their dorsal blotches black. I'm hopefully only one generation away. I usually cross this b...

Re: Seeking advice on my SE AZ trip and wildfires

Hi, Graham. Just got back from MI. My wife says it's been raining quite a bit the last two weeks, since I've been gone, but I don't think the Santa Ritas are open, yet. I'll check it out in the coming days. Saw a DBK in the front yard last night coiled and looking for a meal. Hope he got it... haha...

Just got off the phone with TPWD- they were extremely nice and asked me to "spread the word". Herp Stamps can be purchased starting Aug. 15th. but you can't begin using them until Sept. 1st. Just FYI

Re: Texas native venomous collection regulations???

It ALL depends on your LOCAL city ordinances. The Controlled Exotic Snake Permit (a.k.a. Nonindigenous Snake Permit) is for" "All non-indigenous (species not native to Texas) venomous snakes and the following constrictors: African rock python (Python sebae), Asiatic rock python (Python molurus), gre...

Re: Seeking advice on my SE AZ trip and wildfires

Hey Wayne- Have you heard anything else about any of the mountain ranges? This is the first year my wife is gonna go with me- we're hoping to camp in the Huachucas for a week or so on the SW side. I'm hoping the monsoons will extinguish any remianing fires and the forest service will open back up th...
