Make sure to use smile.Amazon.com. You can have Amazon donate a percentage of what you spend (at zero cost to you--it is their money donated) to a charity of your choice this way. My choice is Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation. They are represented on "smile" as Amphibian and ...

I am shocked no one has asked this yet, but what are the details around this guy's basement? Does he have visible fox snakes in it every winter? Garters too? If so does he tolerate them well? It would seem so if he picked this one up for the nature center. Really cool regardless. I love fox snakes, ...

Impromptu January Herping (Upper Coastal Plain of Georgia)
Last weekend I went with some buddies to send off one of our friends to a new job. We went to a hunting lease some of them have in Georgia. With the unseasonably warm temperatures I decided to do a little herping. Found a small trash pile on the hunt lease, and a friend spotted this adult canebrake ...

Saw this guy last Saturday January 12th. Granted this was on the upper coastal plain of Georgia, but timbers are one thing I rarely see in winter. I've flipped them in South Georgia and north Florida in February but this was way earlier. Cottons and diamondbacks are frequent winter finds for us but ...

I've been boycotting Coors and their crappy beer for years because of this! If I'm going to drink cheap domestic swill, I reach for Busch Light. Even PBR is owned by Miller Coors and shall not be trusted. Of course Anheuser-Busch probably sponsors something that drowns Gopher tortoises in a bucket.....

Last week was rocking at the mouth of a small creek on the GA Coast. Mullet jumping everywhere and lots of sharks finning around. Landed and released this big stingray and several big reds. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a353/mattheking/2012-10-11_17-56-09_313.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/album...

Are you trying to roadcruise through a neighborhood, or are you actually getting out to a "wild" place? Coppers can be found "in town", but you will have far better luck if you can find LARGE tracts of forested land.
