Its an allele blip. Pattern/color anomaly can happen in any pigmented animal. But seems to be most common in animals prone to "locality" or individual variability. Because human beings are so visually oriented and even extend values on visual differences we tend to put inordinate focus on them inmo....

The factor exacerbating the issue though, is the truth in the comment about decision makers going with the cheapest lighting or lighting that only serves one interest. But I hope you are right.

I think the cottonmouth was momentarily percieving it as a branch mass or terra form as perhaps newly stirred out of a basky nap. It was a Nope on further inquiry of serpent.

How refreshing the exchange of neurons between two on tranquil waters.

Hope your snake ate. I'm more familiar with boreas, and various exotics than woodhousii. A little more data has me almost seeing barely and diminutive L crests in the last photo but not really. Perhaps if I had a different device.

Toad detail really shows up better dry especially with faint baby braille.

Hi Melissa The first thing I do with a young snake that has suddenly stopped feeding in an on season, is to carefully go over the snakes body with my eyes and my fingertips, both equally important in examining a snake - with emphasis on the head, ocular groove and the tip of the tail. A retained eye...
