Re: Egg Mass ID help

I agree, probably chorus frog eggs. The egg mass is very small and does not have a layer of jelly around it as seen in Ambystomid eggs. The link Carl provided has some additional photos of chorus frog eggs in the comments. I'll probably add chorus frogs to the main body of the post soon.

A town I used to live in has been working for years to protect populations of amphibians at a high traffic site that has one of the best spring migrations I've ever seen. What makes you think this? Seems like you'll mostly get amphibians that hide out below the frost line (toads), hang out underwater (a few ranids), or simply freeze with ambient temps (woodies and hylids). Logically it would make sense for them all to go below the frost line and from what I read, th...

Some amphibians have been seen crossing roads and driveways as early as a month ago in Vermont but only isolated individuals here and there. I would not expect any impact on populations but most of those early migraters will either die, need to hunker back down for a while, or lay doomed egg masses....

If we've learned anything from the science fiction hit, Megalodon vs. Giant Octopus, the answer, which can be produced in a day or two in glowing green tubes, is pheromones. You can lure them into a concentrated area for the military to deal with. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y33/keiri/msvgo/vlc...
