Damn Bill... I don't know if your observations or your photography is more amazing. I think the best answer is that both are equally awesome. Super post man. Really dug it for sure.

Re: Blacktail Rattlesnakes- King of Rattlesnake Sympatry
Sweet post. Definitely can't see enough photos of my favorite crote. In New Mexico, they can be found side by side with C. viridis in some areas; especially where viridis is found in high (6 - 7,000 ft.) elevations but also down around 4500 ft. or so. Mollie in the San Mateo Mountains out basking af...

I was going to post this snake but with all the recent successful posts I sure don't feel special anymore. http://www.rockrattlesnake.com/miscellaneous/DSC_2438.jpg So I am posting pics of these. I think it's a Texas toad as well. The next closest option would be great plains toad but cognatus has larger, rounder green blotches on the body.

Nice pics bro! But why are you lying to people and telling them those are NM klaubs... I know for a fact 90% of those were from AZ. That's where all the awesome klaubs are :) The only snakes you find in NM are western diamondbacks and gopher snakes. Shame I missed out on the clotter. BTW, you found ...

Not sure if this is only in SE New Mexico but when I first moved there, people kept telling me about Mountain Boomers. I'm like, what the hell is a Mountain Boomer? Follow nhherp and ChrisNM's advice. The beauty of NM is that it has a bit of everything. You see a lot of the stuff you find in AZ in the SW part of the state, you get some West Texas influence in the SE part of the state. You get Four Corners type stuff in the NW part of the state and you get Great...

I should say that I defer to those who know abyssus/concolor in that northern AZ/southern UT area more than I like Brian and Rich. I was debating between concolor and abyssus but it's not like the abyssus I typically see from a bit further south in the Lake Powell, AZ area.
