2016 Wisconsin, Texas, MO, IL

After hours and hours of research on places to herp in 2017, I figured it was time to take a break this winter and do a 2016 post. 2016 would turn out to be a big year for me. I had my first child (Going to do my best to add another herper to the list) and made trips to Texas and the Ozarks. Season ...

Pretty much everything is going to be great. Would love to see contortrix laticinctus/pictigaster, Micrurus tener, and Crotalus molossus. Our first day will be around Houston, and C. c. anthicus will be the target. Then, we will be heading deep south to have a shot at Drymobius, Drymarchon, and Lept...

Queen Snake (Endangered in WI) Western Worm Snake (only known from one county) Eastern Plains Garter Snake (would be a lifer) Eastern Massassaug...

He is the main reason I got back into herping up here in WI. He showed me my first Hognose, a snake that had eluded me for 16 years, and I even got to do a trip to snake road with him. I'm going to miss observing the hognose nesting with him. Thanks for getting me motivated again! R.I.P

Anyone who has spent any extended amount of time in the Everglades knows that getting rid of the pythons is not possible from hunting. I will give one reason...the vast vast vast majority of the park is inaccessible.
