Equatorial areas are less seasonal in terms of herps than areas further north or south so for a January trip I would recommend Borneo.

First snake is Coelognathus flavolineatus, I second Paul that number 2 is a type of Attractus - I'm no expert on South American serpents.

Thank you! So far the general consensus is that I should probably do my digs at night, well after dusk, and the wetter it is the more hope I should have. Anyone have experience particularly with digging for caecilians though? I dig for fossorial snakes a fair bit and the caecilians tend to be found...

The one you show the venter of after the Enhydris enhydris looks like some kind of Dendrelaphis, probably rictus. The 'ID still needed' is Amphiesma stolatum and the black and white banded snake looks like a Bungarus multicinctus to me.
