You were keeping and/or breeding A. c. mokasen at 14 years old? Or was that just a by-chance bite?
I've had no envenomations, but been bitten by colubrids multiple times if that counts.

My advice comes from Peter Berg, who has four of the most amazing, well behaved polite and courteous kids I've ever seen. He said besides them having an amazing mother, he talks to them with respect like they're people only smaller. Not like they're a dog, or something. Just talk to her like you wo...

I like your posts. They're very manly. What's a turkey polt? A poult is the term for a juvenile bird, usually poultry (hence the name). I'm all for classifying the feral cat as a nuisance animal. I'd like to retract my previous statement about only targeting threatened species; I hadn't thought it through before posting. You should try to relieve yourself of that notion. Just because something is abundant in a given area doesn't mean it should be overlooked. What do you think the people who have seen their favorite, once abundant species disappear with their habitat over the decades would say. Not that sparse data ...

I personally like number 2 best. Lifted head, natural leaf litter, clean animal.
I'd pick number 3 if the depth of field was greater, as the whole animal would be in focus as opposed to just the head and tail.
Anyone else notice that in number 1, he's flipping the viewer off?

I wouldn't target a species that is abundant in a given area, mostly because the data wouldn't exactly be needed. I haven't settled on a target species (if there is going to be one), and when and if I do, it would be one that is rather elusive and could use the extra data on it.

The diffuser warms the shot up quite a bit, plus the wall is an off white color. I needed the aperture wider open because of the lack of light; it does require a bit of compensation for the same exposure.

Why honey? Hydrogen Peroxide can be toxic to some animals, so be careful.
