just drive around and flip as many rocks as you can. rocks are everywhere. morning is probably best for flipping. flipping in the rain is a good idea as well.

wear gloves and watch out for widows.

my only advice is to learn as much about timbers/saugas as you can and then go out and look. if you are seeking dens as you should be i will not say anything. sorry, you are asking about a pretty sensitive topic, especially with SFD becoming a problem here in wisconsin. google maps can be your best ...

phil, the central sands is a target of mine for next spring. saugas that is. you may want to go earlier than early summer though. end of may through june is best. we'll talk. just call me. i've got some good areas to look.
