It was my first actual intergrade (and DOR too, sadly). I recorded it as a Florida Pine, becaus...

Re: Steps to minimize risk of Lyme Disease while out herping
There are other diseases spread by ticks for which the 24 hr rule does not hold. This includes R. parkerii , southern tick associated rash syndrome (STAR) and others. The advice given is all good, but is difficult to follow in Florida (esp tucking pants into socks etc). fortunately there are very fe...

Re: short Emerald Coast, FL trip
Thats right...there is no oil on our beaches and the local fish is safe to eat.
we need the tourists to come back to the Destin, emerald coast area.
BTW, nice eastern garter. I find more pines and EDBs than garters. they are not common here
for whatever reason.

Re: Maltese chameleons, endemics, & other lizards
I had no idea Malta had Chamaeleo chamaeleon. I would have looked for them when I spent a semester at the Royal University of Malta back in 1973. I imagine there are a whole lot more cars now and if they drive as crazy as they did back then it must have been wild for you in the congested towns. The ...
