Those are cool sites bit not the ones I was on.. It was more like.. You could click on what species of animal you wanted like I could click on crotalus horridus and it would bring up a big list of people that has put there finds up.. Some had pictures others didn't.

Wow I just noticed I put Rough Earth snake on that list of snakes.. It was actually a Rough Green snake.. Anyways I am thinking about installing a small pond to the edge of the yard right before the woods start.. Then maybe putting something over half of it for shade and then some rocks.

Well I live in Southeastern Ky.. I would like to see pretty much any kind of snake. In the woods near my house I have seen a Racer, Rat, and a Hognose. Those are the only big snakes I would probably see.

Thanks for the answers.. Last Feb I found a northern water snake and I believe it was close to 50 degrees so I am hoping maybe I can find one before January is over. If weather.com is right it should hit the lower 50s sometime this month.

I was just wondering what the lowest temp everyone has found any herps at....Last February I found 2 Dekay snakes under a rock while it was raining and it was about 52 degrees out.. Not that cold but it was pretty chilly.

I can't believe how far this post has gone. But anyways I have another question, About how many TRs do think there is left in the wild in Ky. I know no one can know for sure because of the poachers, collectors and the fact that knowing the exact number is pretty much impossible.

In my opinion giving out a location is worse than a date. Unless you know a spot then it won't matter if you go to the same spot all year round if it isn't a den it isn't. Anyone can look up what time they come out but I just wanted to see what everyone else thought would be the best. I had no idea ...

Who is blanket jackson?

I know how to hold Copperheads and Timbers but that is the only 2 types of hot snakes I have held. I do the same thing everytime I know if you make one small mistake it result in a bite.

True but you never know when one of those pro's may get a lethal bite that can't be helped by the anti-venom. Also I have no legit reason to hold a venomous snake. Just the fact that I want to. I know the risks and the dangers involved. It is just something I choose to do.
