I have found them in caves and sinkholes before (both alive and dead). I assume they need 'some help' to get into a tree. A false map/slider wouldn't have suprised me if water close by though, they are tree climbers.

Yep. And we haven't even addressed possums on islands in the southern hemisphere. Compound 1080 is used in some of those locations (manufactured here in 'Allah Bahma').

No, they will just adjust their numbers based on food availablility. I'd be curious if armadillos and nutria are counted in the survey. Also if any other 'long ago introduced' mammals are listed.
