Gobble, Gobble Tim, Some of the Best Thamnophis WI has to offer. I like to find them with the green/blue dorsal lateral, the pastel sunset colored sides are fantastic !! I have been there and have seen several with the Orange sides where most have white dorsal laterals but a few that have like this ...

Sorry Captain,
Just wanted to revise my comment, I understand it was found in Florida I just think more likely it could have been moved by someone that found it before you did to the locale where you found it. Awesome mystery, makes you wonder though.

Re: BLUE Garter
Greetings Captain, I have had at least a dozen Florida Eastern Gartes identical to the one in your pic. I have also found here in WI several common eastern garters that have blue dorsal stripes when the bellies are blue as well and the sides are a blue/green color. However seeing the dorsal stripe o...

Hi Mike, nice pics, all favorites of mine. I think you always find the most pretty milks, most I find have an overall darker backround color with dark chocolate saddles. Luv the Boxies, had a pair, male and female that were given to me that I gave to Devils Lake State park's Nature Center. I set up ...

Hi Mike, I was up this last weekend committed to some volunteer work for the DNR in Door Co. and I received a report that Northern Ribbons were recently spotted in Pen State Park?? I think that is very interesting. I guess I wouldn't have imagined them that far north. I would love to see one myself ...

Re: what's everyone's experience with northern WATER SNAKES?
Goodmorning Tuff Girl, I have hand caught many of these water snakes in Wisconsin. I have always had to be very fast to get em. In most cases I find them on shore laying in the sun and get within 3-4 ft away and then just with lightning speed grab em. I usually try to get em buy 3/4 of the body and ...

Re: Some great finds in Wisconsin (spring 2014)
Blandings are locally common in Kenosha county. I visit a place where I see them regularly. I think the DNR removed them from threatened status to non-threatened, however in my opinion they still aren't entirely common throughout the state. The numbers I have surveyed in the last few years in that a...
