Wow! Those kingsnakes are spectacular! They certainly epitomize the best that holbrooki has to offer. I found the rat snake series interesting as well. Very similar to those we see in KY. The western diamondback photos are superb!

We have found maybe a dozen over the years Doug. Here is a pair from Edmonson county. They are not particularly common and can be rather secretive. There are two populations that I am aware of in KY.

The red eared slider, Trachemys scripta elegans is the native slider of KY and the yellow bellied slider is not known to occur in the state. I agree with the five lined skink ID. The young Ambystoma looks like a marbled salamander to me, though the color is off a little from what I'm used to seeing. Also, your slider is a red eared slider and not a yellow bellied.

I really like your narrowmouth toad photo's! Nice post!
