Coast Horned Lizards are well known from that area, and even extend down into the desert slope of the mountain.

It also depends on elevation and weather. I have observed most species at all times. Kings, Crotes, Boas, etc At Dusk, Mid night 4 am, 9 am etc. It will be 20 degrees warmer at 1000 ft in elevation vs 4500 feet in elevation. It will be cooler the closer you get to the coast. Just an FYI Jeff/All. I was up there a week ago and a large area of the Meadow was on fire and burning.
You should check around to make sure the area is open, and campgrounds are open.

If one applies the Biological species concept, you will see areas in integration/hybrids and lots variability in the contact zones from both of these species, therefore one would need to sample 1,000's of different individuals across the touch zones.
