I second the advice to work your hand. Take the physical therapy seriously. You will get out of it what you put into it. I doubled my exercise routine - pushed myself until I cried. I use pine shavings obtained from TSC. I've raised rodents for ~ 25 years, the last ten in my pole shed w/o heat or AC (in Ohio). I use cat litter pans with DIY screen tops. Quart mason jars with a small hole in the lid are placed lid down on the screen (lick the hole). I feed cheeeeep dog food from TSC supplemented with wild bird food (...

New show idea:
Predators (animal) hunting and killing humans. We're not endangered and it would make for good entertainment. Showcase a different species each episode. It would also help in educating us humans on the dangers of wandering into their turf.

There is no need to pin any snake, venomous or not. If you have a need to perform close inspection/data gathering, then the best method is to use tubes to restrain them and protect you.

I quit going after I saw a guy get popped by a copperhead through a deli cup. The seller was one of those idiots that caught everything that moved and brought it to the show to sell. The organizer didn't shut them down, just made them tape over the holes. Too much wild caught crap there for my taste.

Ya know, not everyone that kills a snake is a "redneck". But there's a similar, primitive mindset. I see them here, too. They're the same all over the world. I bet you see "them". I wouldnt call them "rednecks". I also wouldnt use the term "primitive mindset", but they sure do kill a lot of snakes ...

Get out and HIKE. Look for structure - foot hills, canyons, rock outcrops and mountains. Get up early (well before sunrise), road cuise the roads in and out of the mountains. Once you find a nice hiking area - get out and hit it. Hike until late day, then road cruise until midnight. Works for me.
