Re: A few beautiful February Copperheads
Colorado is an interesting county. They have a cool mix of critters. I can't think of ever finding a hog out there, but I've found a bunch of other cool stuff (Ringnecks, a Glossy Snake, etc.).. I've heard of both, and I've cruised certain productive areas out there and never found a DOR of either....

Neat, dude. They look a lot more like broad-banded coppers than southern copperheads. What county? Colorado County. You should see the hog noses out there. .. I'm pretty jealous, it's been below zero here for what seems like all winter. The contrast on those two was really nice. My only nit to this would be showing a kid so young that picking up a hot snake is ok. To me there's not a good reason for doing that, but doing it in front of a kid seems reckle...

Re: Anyone know of fire ant killer to use on alligator nests
I have tons of gators around me. Due to our lack of consistent rain these last few years many of their natural/and unnatural water holes are gone. It's making it a little easier for the ants to affect the nests and babies, but unfortunately that is life in Texas. Same with the wild pigs, you can try...

Advice:
When you lift a board, stone, log, rock or piece of bark put it back right how it is. Just cause something may not have been there when you lifted it, doesn't mean it won't be there next time.

I think what would be best would be contacting local parks or Game Wardens with your situation. Moving a bunch of turtles to an area that already has a set population may just spell death to those turtles or ones that were already there(depending on how many you are relocating). I love boxies and I ...

Welcome aboard. Speckled Kings can be quite common in the right areas at the right time of year. I don't herp in Houston anymore, but back when I did (80s), they were pretty common in the prairie areas west of town (of course, back then "west of town" started east of Highway 6). I am sure...
