How long does a copperhead have a yellow tail?
Hi, I looked this up online, but I really want a trustworthy answer, and I figure I’ll get it here. My niece had a copperhead visitor outside her house. It had the characteristic yellow/green tail. How old does a copperhead get when the tail color fades? Thank you for your help.

That's really interesting. I probably did get the information from the Ditmers book, which was in the library. I wasn't on the group at the time you mention, so I knew nothing about that. At the very beginning, one person asks the other about the number of venomous snakes in Wisconsin. I know the two listed are native, but I'd always heard that a grivid female western diamondback "escaped" from a circus train after it derailed, and that due to that, there was a small popula...

A number of the flycatchers have a little top knot... like the kingbirds, and that last photo of the Pee-wee. It looks like it might be where some catch-a-bug-muscle attaches, rather than like the crest of a cardinal or titmouse. Do you know if that "knot" has something to do with the busi...

So is this a chicken-egg thing at this point? The snakes won't react to cold temperatures because for eons they simply haven't had to deal with this, so they "ignore it," even to the point of death.
