Hi, I'm a member of the Northeast chapter and I am coming to Chicago for a quick trip( 1st time ever; wedding) in early may. Besides going to the Field Museum (can't wait to see Sue!) I'd love to see a green snake, tiger salamander or even a brown snake. Could I find these targets in the city itself...

I have found them in that county. I would think any where in the county could be good. Look at road cuts, under any trash at the side of the road (in cardboard, old bags, etc.) Don't forget to look under small cover objects as well. I'll bet you will find one and please post a pix. For Nassau county, try to also find two-lined and spotted salamanders, red-spotted newts, wood frogs, diamond-back terrapins, Italian wall lizards and milk snakes all of which I have seen there somewhat recently.
