Re: Taiwanese snakes
Cheers :) Indeed snakes can be hard to find I. Taiwan, but once certain locations are known it can also be ridiculously high snake counts in a night. Dont feel bad, I have had more nights of 0 than I have had nights of 5+ over about 20 years haha. Russell's are hard, need to head to certain towns in...

Best Peninsular Malaysian Parks for frogs?
Hello. Was looking for some opinions on the parks in Peninsular Malaysia in terms of frogging. We are planning our trip to Thailand and Malaysia early September and are wondering which park to head to. We will only be at one location, so wanted to make it a decent one. My original plan was Endau-Rom...

Re: Khao Sok?
I cant recall the name of the place, but i have stayed in the old tree houses a few times there and have been happy. My first night was surrounded by tokay geckos while eating dinner in the floods that hit there a few years back. lots of herps there, even just roaming around. i would say though its ...

Re: Carrying small amount of gear over rough terrain
i used to have a pretty strong large fanny pack which i sewed in more padding into. it worked for a single DSLR body, 1 lens, flash and some little things. i used it for about 4 years hiking in SE Asia with decent results, but it was terrible in humidity/rain.

Re: Denmark, April 2015 & a bit (for Hans, 11 months late)
Wow, those are amazing. I had no idea Denmark was so rich in species, thanks for the pictures. I love toads as well, but those green toads look absolutely stunning. The species as a whole pretty safe in your country? Maybe i shouldnt be, but i am really shocked how many herps you have, especially th...

Taiwan: White beetles, ID?
Found at about 600m on Pachira trees mid day under the leaves, a good number. I am terrible with knowing many insects, so any hints would be wonderful! http://www.biotataiwan.org/images/A0021-1.jpg http://www.biotataiwan.org/images/A0021-2.jpg http://www.biotataiwan.org/images/A0021-3.jpg http://www...

Ironically i was trying to photograph the frog and didnt notice the snake until it was moving towards the frog. All my pictures have general location but nothing mor...

Re: International herping?
Thanks for all the answers, and welcome, that clears it up
I am originally from SW BC, coastal. But now reside in Asia. I asked because we will be back this summer for a family visit and was hoping to take some pictures around home of some critters

I see the North American Association has Mexico and USA, what about Canada? Should Canada posts be put in with the closest USA region? I am from BC, so maybe Northwest? Or another forum? Second question, I live in Taiwan now, is there an international (outside NA) forum for posting? last question: W...
