Re: A Little Bit of West Texas,.... DBD Style -

Dave - I hear ya. I actually wasn't implying I thought you needed the crofab. I was more making the point I don't think you needed the other things either. The same argument regarding saving treatments for life and limb events can be applied to antibiotics and steroids. I admit a single dose of ster...

Re: A Little Bit of West Texas,.... DBD Style -

Excellent post. I loved all the crots, but I have to imagine you saw some more lizards than that... I do find it odd you seek medical attention to refuse the one thing proven to be of benefit and yet get antibiotics and steroids. You might as well cut/sucked the venom out in the field, poured a bunc...

Re: Salamander ID HELP needed

No opacum in Michigan. I will pay you a $1 per salamander if you find an extant population. If they do still exist, they would be in the SW. I'm not the best either, but it doesn't really look like tigrinum , and out of laterale or maculatum , my guess would be maculatum . Admittedly, I haven't seen...

Re: Any Nikon Users using lightroom?

Scott, What online RAW editors are there? I guess my biggest problem is I feel the Nikon RAW editors do the best job with the nikon image, but lightroom has far superior workflow and speed. Lightroom unfortunately doesn't handle the raw file as well. I feel better after finding a few of the user cre...

Look what the cat dragged in... Those are some nice adventures, and a quality spring.

Good luck with the new camera, better take buttloads of pics.

Re: Any Nikon Users using lightroom?

For the record, I shoot in Color Mode III. Here are some images with the user created presets. Again the original NikonView/Capture image http://www.buckeyeherps.com/images/Lightroomcapture/DSC_4105.JPG User preset Color Mode III http://www.buckeyeherps.com/images/Lightroomcapture/d2xIII_user1.jpg A...

Re: Any Nikon Users using lightroom?

Examples of what I am talking about... I did find some "camera profiles" for Nikon, none of which seem to be perfect. all are uncropped images, basic raw file, using a certain image profile, resized for web. 1. Nikon View/Capture http://www.buckeyeherps.com/images/Lightroomcapture/DSC_4105.JPG 2. Li...

Re: Another GREAT week of northern Ohio herping!

My experience has always been saugas are easier to find in OH than Michigan. Michigan definitely has more locals, but despite finding great habitat, it doesn't always come through. I also only really ever see 1 or 2. In Ohio, I have seen saugas at 6 or more locations, and almost always multiple anim...

Any Nikon Users using lightroom?

I shoot with Nikon D200, raw images. I have been using the lightroom 3 beta for a while now, and while I love the work flow and speed I feel it is consistently low on the blacks and contrast, producing "dull" images. This is something which I never noticed when using Nikon CaptureNX2. I need to deci...
