Wonderful, I have been to Kubah many years ago and remeber it was a herpetological heaven. Love that Boiga drapiezii green phenotype, I have never found it.

Difficult to say without more morphological data but could this be a juvenile Stegnotus borneensis?

I don't know whether juveniles of this species have white bands, perhaps it is not known.

Dear Francis, Any nice rainforest area would be fine in Borneo. I would advise to walk on well-marked trails, particularly at night time. Preferably near forest streams. Take a very good head light and hand light and do a lot of searching up the trees. You should be able to find a lot. All the best,...

Yeah, I heard from a Dutch biologist who lives on Koh Chang that Daboia siamensis indeed occurs on Koh Chang. It is possible, this species has a weird, patchy, distribution. Unfortunately I missed it. So you have surveyed Koh chang as well? Did you find species that I missed?

Yeah, Gonyosoma is often considered a common snake but in my experience it isn't. Although it's a rather slow snake and should be easy to spot at night, this is the second I have seen!

However, when I found that specimen on santubong, I consulted Morgan's (1973) thesis on sibynophis and remember concluding that it was not S. geminatus. beautiful, I particularly like the O. signatus. theye're very difficult to find. The Bornean population was seen as a distinct species (O. subcarinatus) untill recently. Now it is considered conspecific with O. signatus but I'm pretty sure it isn't.
