I'm no authority on salamanders, but those look like eggs, to me... as though (perhaps) it was run over and the eggs were forced out the mouth... and then (again, perhaps) a skunk or something came along and chewed the head off???

I wrote a reply about the data we collect for them. I also mentioned that although it is illegal to place boards out there, no law prohibits the flipping of such boards, provided one has a fishing license. More flies with honey ad nauseum, No license required for flipping trash as long as you don't...

I've found and rescued collards and chucks from a 55 gall plastic water catchment barrel... not sure if those, and/or possibly Means Rock Lizards are there or not... but i would guess they are.

I've helped out on a few thihgs... till i realized what a douch the 'star' (of Vemon in Vegas fame :roll: ) was... lol one thing i think came out ok was Discovery's 'Speed of Life' series... :) Not knowing any better, Andy (out at Deep Creek) let them film parts of 'Venom Hunters' out at his place.....

Good hunting, have fun. Oh, and take some stout boots and gloves - that lava will tear you up . No joke. Lava (imo) sucks... hard, heavy, and (can be) as sharp as glass... you try to pick up a rock the size of a baseball... and it's welded to a chunk the size of a VW... once a herp goes down a crac...

35 mi northern range extension (along the transverse ranges) for C o. helleri, (Barstow Helli) with my Summit Valley green (helli) no longer keep any herps... but these two were my favorite crotes, for years.
