Re: Costa Rica 2010 (DUW, DOR warning)

Brian had never seen a croc before, and we were anxious to get to a popular spot. Unfortunately, I failed to notice the speed limit go from 80kph to 60 kph and got nailed going 85kph. About $550 later we were furiously on our way again. DO NOT SPEED IN COSTA RICA. Seriously?? I got pulled over in C...

Not much to add except a question...what has changed at the spots Kauffeld popularized, except for destruction of some of the habitat, and Okeetee refusing entrance to herpers now...? I'll answer the question myself...Mostly NOTHING. If the spot still exists, and the animals are still there because...

Seems with all the post about AZ lately (shocking ) there's some confusion with both the "Out of State Herpers" and the "AZ Native Herpers". I'm not sure if I'm the one to try and shed light on this as I'm a Californian. However, owning a home and a few acres here and there throughout the state of ...

A gun won't protect anyone from a cougar attack. If a cougar wants to eat you, he's going to stalk you from behind. That said, I believe that most people who are attacked by cougars are women or children under 5'4 (I need to find the source, but it exists somewhere). "I don't need to outrun the cou...

I have found some Florida pine snakes this year, in a couple of "protected" areas and I think it is unlikely anyone would repeat my success. To the contrary, the newbie's own trials and erors is the best way to learn! If that means that a new herper should have to herp alone without more seasoned help, I completely disagree. Herping alone can be very discouraging , while having some outside help allows them to teach you proper herping et...

I was out of town, so I did not know until yesterday that something was amiss.

This makes very little sense. You need to have a local attorney look at your contract with the ISP.
