I'm surprised not more love for the Los Angeles area.. Sure San diego is great, but better job market in LA, id say for sure.. Lets see.. Mild weather, compared to just about anywhere in the cont. US. Not hot in summer if you live within 15-20 from the beach. Close to many great herping destinations...

Echoing what Brian/Jim said... But I never discourage people from seeking out what they are interested in.. The main Longbeach spot is (to me) more of a community spot now a days.. and the couple of guys who first found it, don't really go there much anymore. Other places throughout urban Los Angele...

This is an invasive, but interesting and exiting, issue.. When you guys first put something up abouit this I veiwed the islands on Google Earth.. simply beautiful scenery and looks like perfect habbitat for kings.. Would be a neat adventure..

Rattlesnakes will be one of the tougher herps to find in november.. but you might be able to find one.. I would try the low desert(not mojave) during that month. Nice webpage.. looks like our american racers.. couldn't get it translated ,but could see they are from Spain and the sourounding countrie...

Nice finds.. I'd say you guys are pushing the limits.. (weather-wise) for manders.. Its still pretty dry out there. Great utalization of micro-habbitats!

I remember finding one of those grey- Yellow bellies up in Shasta when i was a kid.(houseboat trips). At the time didn't know what it was.. just called it a grey racer. I remember some really good snake densities up there... kinda like the western Sierra. Nice finds.. and very cool, you've got Cal-k...

Palm desert has some great hunting resources in its vicinity.. but we don't give out specific spots, on a forum.. or specific times. The desert banded gecko will be found on mountain slopes and canyons, as well as the open desert. but you'll probably have the most luck within a few miles of some kin...
