First time for everything

This post is actually the first time for 2 things: 1) me putting a photo in one of my posts (SFW? right...), and 2) a San Juan County Utah milksnake, found on the recent 4 corners Rocky Mtn chapter survey (now that's interesting...). http://s1187.photobucket.com/albums/z395/jimigragg/?action=view&am...

Re: Places to Herp near Cocoa Beach Florida?

It's a 60,000-acre property, or almost 100 square miles. In other words, few people have really done it justice - it's huge. The highest-acreage habitat is mesic (intermediate-moisture) flatwoods; this is also probably the poorest-managed habitat on 3 Lakes - same is true for most public lands in FL...

Re: Places to Herp near Cocoa Beach Florida?

Dunno about flipping central-coastal FL in June - in my experience that was more of a winter-spring thing. Others can chime in if they know better. But near Cocoa a few of my VERY favorite public lands to explore are Merritt Island Refuge (managed by FWS) and Canaveral Seashore (NPS). People fish at...
