It is amazing how easy they can be to find once you aren't looking for them. I found most of my boas by pure chance while doing something else. I have been skunked a good many times on trips specifically for them, even in habitat that is loaded with the little guys.

I think it may be a strange colored S.intermontana with an underdeveloped boss or the angle on the photo or grunge is obscuring it.
