Yes, that Dendrelaphis is D. caudolieantus.

Also, that viper is T. subannulatus, not wagleri. You don't get T. wagleri in Borneo.

I think that cat gecko is A. dorsalis, or maybe A. cf. dorsalis.

The main reason why you don't see much of the environment/habitat in these shots is because they were mostly all taken at night. I depend on one single 270EX to light up my subjects. How bad is the distortion? And do you fix it in PS/LR? I did some of the perspectives this lens provides, but dislike how it's basically impossible to get the background in focus in the wider shots (although the Viper with the creek behind it is pleasing). I'm surprised you get such great shots given that putting the lens so close to an animal usually scares them off and also since your options for flash are limited at that distance. What sort of f-stops are you using for these photos? I imagine you need a pretty high f-stop to get a decent DOF. How high can the laowa go? No idea. It's a manual lens. I focus wide open at F4 and dial the aperture ring anything maybe F11 to F22 before pressing the shuttle. Smallest aperture is F32.
