Some great responses! Thank you guys for your answers so far. captainjack0000: Florida is a great place for biodiversity in the U.S. You can even find exotics. ;) Do you use waders when you go into the swamps? Very cool Zach! Thank you for sharing. I'm very impressed with the clarity and stability of the video. Thanks Hadar, I had read about it and seen it in other media but I was unsure. It is added to the list for the family road trip this summer. Great story and very cool species. Fern Canyon looks amazing how long does is stay so narrow? This adventure began with a phone call from my best friend from undergrad, Adison. Heather: The size of the scar would indicate that when injured, the wound was much, much larger. That in turn tends to rule out such a wound being causes by either a predator nor an antagonist (ground squirrel) but more likely caused by some mechanical means, farm implement, bike, wacked by a stick...

April showers bring May flowers but what does March in Oregon bring? Apparently crazy weather with 30 degree fluctuations and with that, lots of herps when the sun comes out to play. I started my weekend with Matt at the West Eugene Wetlands where we saw 6 long-toed salamanders, a tangled ball of 6 ...

Re: Cross country herping adventure!!!
Oregon regulations have ruined my plans. Apparently it is illegal to own the species of herps I have in this state so they will have to stay in Illinois until I move again. Guess that means I can't stay here much longer. My green tree frog is already at least 7 years old and I've been away from her ...
