Philodryas patagoniensis. Watch out cause many philodryas are venomous. The related p. olfersi has recorded many fatal bites almost like the boomslang. Child deaths known.

I'd go with Venomous Reptiles of The Western Hemisphere. Or get Murphy and Armstrong's Natural History of Mexican Rattlesnakes. Both are great and usable. Been there before. Pretty neat area. Basic sonoran species. Nuthin special. A few pyros closer to the rim (no locales) as well as some others. I suggest going south to maricopa or north into the Sedona region to get on some trails. You might get something.

Like Kyle said, Storeria occurs in all regions. There are plenty of both species in the piedmont. Edge habitat seems to produce the most results for me. Forest clearings, field edges, lawn edges, etc. Thanks for the help. I will hopefully produce some pics. In the meantime spring is almost here :)....

I vaguely remember a porosus like this one captured this year (2012) that was 6 meters measured using both techniques in the phillippines in the latest herp review. This may be it.

Tough question, in the US it would be the Cochise Barrier (although SoFl is also a cool place). Outside is probably The Serra do Mar of Brazil region: so many rare species and a big clade intersection.

Good idea for a thread but the question seems a bit ambiguous as stated. What do you mean by "your rarest"? I would interpret this most literally to mean one that I own, but that's obviously not your intent. Next to that I would guess you mean, "what's the rarest herp I've found"...
