No problems here. I just entered a county record and it update both national and historical, quarterly and year-to-date.

Brian, subspecies don't count for county records. It goes by the species.

Re: Contest PHP not updating
I just realized that was the problem...and sent you a PM about it. However, it really is a pain in the arse when some people are too lazy to list the subspecies they find...
I think it should be mandatory that everyone place their entries under the full names, not just species. That would eliminate a lot of confusion during contests.

I don't when in an intergrade zone and I can't positively ID the subspecies or the specimen is an intergrade (like the Ensatina up here)Brian Hubbs wrote:I just realized that was the problem...and sent you a PM about it. Re: Contest PHP not updating
Just put it under one or the other and note that it is an intergrade. That's what i've done. This species thing is a problem for some of us who are entering for the contest. It gets really confusing because there are 2 maps that need to be checked, species level and subspecies. I guess we could just check the species level and go by that...but the entries are still on 2 maps and the maps don't agree with each other...
PS-if you don't enter a subspecies name for a non-intergrade entry you will receive a nasty note from ME.

totally agree... that & vouchers..Brian Hubbs wrote:I think it should be mandatory that everyone place their entries under the full names, not just species. That would eliminate a lot of confusion during contests.
Re: Contest PHP not updating
That's realtively easy to do if you are dealing with US or Canadian herps for which the subspecies are somewhat defined and their ranges mapped out. For species that live outside of the US, that isn't easily available.Brian Hubbs wrote:I just realized that was the problem...and sent you a PM about it. And an intergrade isn't one subspecies or the other, it is an intergrade. Putting a single name on it obfuscates that fact.
And what confusion are we trying to eliminate?
